Holden's Dealer Network Future
A biggest point of contention created by Holden’s folding has been recompense of the Holden's dealer network, many of whom have spent significant amounts of resources in yard upgrades just recently in the face of falling sales revenue.

Without probing the many events of the recent period of arguing between the two sides, GM offered compensation of $1500 per car, while the dealers demanded six thousand and ten dollars. With the dealers repeated private and public urges for negotiation and higher settlement GM did not move from the $1500 figure.
The result of this was over one hundred and twenty of the remaining 184 Holden dealers had to accept the small amount today amid General Motors setting a June 30 deadline.
Australian Automotive Dealer Association CEO James Voortman was adamant with the assessment of how the negotiations between both stakeholders went down, laying the blame at GM’s feet.
Yet, this does not indicate that the fight has finished. AHDC (Australian Holden Dealer Council) reports that the remaining sixty Holden dealers will pursue GM for a larger deal.

With quite a few Holden dealers removed their Lion signage & changed to independant signage, it has created a lot of angst as well as a lack of clarity for owners of Holdens.
General Motors said in February it wanted to complete five year agreements from Holden dealers with the possibility to take these to a the period of a decade, to ensure Holden customers have security. And while details of the agreements were forsaken with all the drama over compensation, it’s assumed the other Holden dealers that came to terms with GM have been able to have servicing agreements as a part of agreements.What's Becoming To Holden Special Vehicles
High performance company, HSV will move to GM Specialty Vehicles.
Their February announcement of the closure to Holden operations, General Motors unveiled the desire to continue selling a limited number of vehicles under the GM Specialty Vehicles banner. And while GM has been silent on these ideas after their announcement, it is generally understood that General Motors will partner with HSV, to increase HSV's offerings of right-hand steer changed General Motor's cars.
Yet, there is a point of contention to this path with the AHDC has issued a report in the month of June that questions the GM Speciality Vehicle's validity. Â
John Voortman has said that was concerned about the possibility GM could close Holden’s network and re-enter in the marketplace under a different company.
